They use pre-taped instructional lessons with a textbook, study guide, syllabus, exams and interactions between the student and instructor through informal group discussions and telephone or personal contact.

Where do I find telecourses listed?

Telecourses are listed in the MJC Schedule of Classes.

Will I get college credit for taking a telecourse?

All telecourses carry full college credit which may be applied to MJC graduation, and courses are usually transferable to four-year institutions.

How much do telecourses cost?

All telecourses are part of the MJC curriculum and are subject to the fees listed in the class schedule. In addition to MJC fees, you will need to purchase one or more textbooks for your course and these costs vary.

Where are telecourses broadcast?

You view telecourses on television, usually on video tapes.

Telecourses are not available via satellite dish.

If you have high speed Internet, DSL, or cable connections you can view your telecourse broadcasts on the MJC Web site <http://www.mjc.edu/mjcvideo>. See your course syllabus for dates and times.

Charter Cable Channel 15 broadcasts the History 101, History 102, and Math 50 telecourses to residents of Ceres, Escalon, Hughson, Modesto (South), Riverbank, Salida, and Turlock.
