Basic Format:

Continuous pagination through-out annual volume:
Mullen, L. B., & Hartman, K. A. (2006). Google scholar
and the library web site: The early response by ARL libraries. College & Research Libraries, 67, 106-122.
Each issue begins on page 1:
Andrews, J. (2007). Living history: A conversation
with Kimberly Blaeser. Studies in American Indian Literatures, 19(2), 1-21.
Uses only issue numbers; no volume numbers:
Brown, R. M., & Gonzalez, J. C. (2007). A new forest
frog of the genus platymantis (Amphibia: Anura: Ranidae) from the bicol peninsula of luzon island, Philippines. Copeia, 2, 251-266.

Magazines Articles

Basic Format:

Weekly or Biweekly article printed on consecutive pages:
Elegant, S. (2007, November 5). China's me
generation: The new middle class is young, rich and happy. just don't mention politics. Time, 47-51.
Monthly or Bimonthly article printed on consecutive pages:
Foer, J. (2007, November). Remember this in the
archives of the brain, our lives linger or disappear. National Geographic, 32-55.

Basic Format:

Article printed on consecutive pages:
Ahumada, R. (2007, November 10). Man dies after
daylight shooting in middle of intersection. Modesto Bee, pp. B1-2.
Article NOT printed on consecutive pages:
Blumenstyk, G. (2007, November 2). Pressure builds
on wealthy colleges to spend more of their assets. Chronicle of Higher Education, p. A1+.
Article in paper with edition name given in masthead:
Robertson, C. (2007, November 11). As stagehands
strike, shows don't go on. New York Times, Final National ed., p. 1+.
Article in paper with edition name given in masthead and section designation that is not part of pagination:
Leeds, J. (2007, November 11). The new deal: Band
as brand. New York Times, Final National ed., sec. Arts & Leisure, p. 1+.
Article in local paper with city of publication name NOT in paper title:
Alatonk, S. (1997, December 27). So, did they live
