If
instructors intend to provide students with class time for library
research, we strongly recommend that they take advantage of one
of our library instructional
opportunities. Most students benefit from even a cursory introduction
to the core library resources. Click here
to schedule an instruction session for your class.
If
instructors find it necessary or appropriate to bring their students
to the MJC Library for structured research sessions without
librarian-mediated instruction, this time needs to be scheduled
in advance in order to avoid conflicts with other classes, insure
availability of computer workstations, and allow the Library to
schedule sufficient Reference Desk staff to assist students in
the course of their research. Advance notice also helps us better
advise Instructors on resource availability, and, if needed, allows
us to pull relevant materials for more convenient access.
Faculty
may schedule library research time for your classes by contacting
the Library Instruction Coordinator by telephone (x6409) or email.
