  8. Why haven't I received my Telecourse packet?

    There may be several reasons:

    • Mailing lists cannot be printed before registration ends. Registration usually closes a day or two before the regular semester begins. Packets are prepared and mailed as soon as possible. Because telecourses begin broadcasting approximately 1 week after the start of the regular semester, you should receive your packet before your telecourse begins.
    • Have you moved? Is your current address on file with the Records Office? If not, please contact the Records Office (MM105) to change your address.

  9. Where are telecourses broadcast?

You view telecourses on television, usually on video tapes.

Telecourses are not available via satellite dish.

If you have high speed Internet, DSL, or cable connections you can view your telecourse broadcasts on the MJC Web site <http://gomjc.org/mjcvideo>. See your course syllabus for dates and times.

Charter Cable Channel 15 broadcasts the History 101, History 102, and Math 50 telecourses to residents of Ceres, Escalon, Hughson, Modesto (South), Riverbank, Salida, and Turlock.

  10. If I can't get my telecourse broadcast can I still participate?

Yes. If you cannot receive telecourse broadcasts at your home, you may view the programs at the MJC Library. You can borrow the broadcasts from the Library Reserve Desk. Their phone number is 209-575-6229.

You may also check out the video tapes from MJC Media Services to view at your home. Media Services phone number is 209-575-6100.
