Farther down the canyon, we discovered a second set of ruins. Although roof and walls have collapsed, we still discover intact door covers and stone metates (grinding stones).
These doorway slabs could control the inflow and outflow of air.

In another protected alcove we found pictographs, including these handprints...

And these strange dancing figures. The alcove contained only a few low walls, although older pithouses may remain beneath the soil.

These dwellings were the most intriguing of all...we couldn't get near them because of a 15 foot high overhanging cliff we could not surmount. It was nice to see dwellings that have not been vandalized...
