Well, actually there are rocks in London, if you know where to look...they're in the museums. Here are some examples:

How about a giant fist carved out of a beautiful porphyritic granite in the British Museum?

And, of course, the Rosetta Stone, carved from basalt(?).

Lots of marble everywhere...
Of course, the British museums are some of the finest in the world, and the Natural History Museum was excellent...
