He transferred to the University of California, Davis where he received his bachelor’s degree in physical education. Over the years, he has coached two State Champions at MJC and one National Division II Champion at UCD. “I see myself as an Educator who happens to work in the physical realm,” Young has stated. “ I think everyone benefits by getting involved in something that is bigger than themselves, and team sports provide this opportunity for our students.” “ Success can be found in a strong work ethic that is rooted in paying close attention to detail”. “I’ve been blessed to be able to work with so many gifted individuals”.” My philosophy is simply to encourage students to be intense enough to get the job done, but be relaxed enough to enjoy the journey.” Young is single, and resides in Turlock. He enjoys fly-fishing and reading detective fiction.
