MJC Annual Field Day

MJC FACT SHEET FOR 2008 FIELD DAY PARTICIPANTS

Please read all instructions before proceeding with completion of entry forms and registration process.

Meats Contest - Material fees: $10.00 per contestant.

Vegetable Crops – due to lack of room space, if contest exceeds more than 80 participants, alternates will not judge in ID.

Ag Mechanics Contest – materials fee: $40.00 per team. Required Tool List and Schedule

Poultry Contest – Biosecurity measures will be strictly enforced! Please advise your students not to have poultry contact 72 hours prior to the contest.

Ag Pests, Fruit Tree, Specialty Animal and Vegetable Crop Contests have a minimum of 5 teams; otherwise, contest will be cancelled and entry fees refunded.

No general assembly meeting on Saturday, March 29. All participants must meet at contest sites. Advisors: please direct your students to the appropriate contest site.

Floriculture Contest – No limit on contest size. It is mandatory that an advisor help with the contest. Please list advisor’s name on registration form. Materials fee: $65.00 per team. Registration and materials fee MUST BE PAID before confirmation is given for entry in this contest.

Fruit Tree Judging will meet at instructional lab – Beckwith Ranch – 4554 Beckwith Road, Modesto. Map posted on website.

Land Judging Contest – if you can provide a bus for this off-site contest, please call and confirm arrangements.

Dairy Contest will take place at a Durrer Dairy, 8501 Beckwith Road, Modesto, CA.  For a map and directions, click here.
 

Small Engines Contest – the 20 schools that are officially registered in this contest must provide a troubleshooting judge. Materials fee: $10.00 per team. Registration and materials fee MUST BE PAID before confirmation is given for entry in this contest. Please list troubleshooting judge on registration form.

Coaches will be responsible for getting their own students back to the east campus from contest sites.

If you have a student that will be attending MJC in the summer and/or fall, you can have the student complete an application for admissions form. Forms will be available at the MJC AG booth, AG foyer on Saturday, March 29. Please drop off completed application in the Division Office.
